Mortar Mill

In pharmaceutical technology various pharmaceutical forms like e.g. tablets, pastilles or dragées are used to carry the respective active pharmaceutical ingredients. The quality management’s control of the correct amount of pharmaceutical ingredients added, requires an element analysis. For this purpose the tablet is pulverized.

Fritsch’s mortar mill Fritsch Pulverisette 2, can grind 10 to 20 tablets. Using a mortar mill prevents ingredients to disappear during the process: The grinding by the pestle does not increase temperature; the pharmaceutical ingredients remain constant. After a grinding time of 1 to 5 minutes, a homogenous powder is achieved with a particle size of <100 µm. Even dragées or coated tablets can be ground.
