We all know that space in the lab is a rarity. The HEKB 650 cooled incubator – with its large useable volume and small footprint – takes on this challenge with optimal use of space. With an enclosed space of 1,134 litres and a nominal volume of 601 litres, it makes available a net volume of 470 litres. And, the whole interior space can be used efficiently, since cultures will be exposed to the same ideal conditions at any position inside the incubator. The unique Airguard System guarantees this, by generating a very low airflow while enabling uniform temperature distribution on the inside of the incubator. So-called hot spots don’t even have a chance to form. The complete inside space can be used and the danger of contamination or of cultures drying out is minimised.
State-of-the-art control technology allows exact temperature control, so that microorganisms experience optimal growth conditions at all times. Precisely timed interruption of the incubation process – with storage of results, for example over the weekend – is also possible. The temperature range lies between + 4 °C and + 60 °C, and temperature can be precisely adjusted in increments of 0.1 °C. Temperature variations (over time and independently of location) amount to no more than +/- < 0,5 °C. Automatic thawing is not required, since ice does not form at temperatures of up to + 4 °C.
In terms of energy consumption, the incubator’s performance is just as impressive. Required energy is under 100 W, regardless of the temperature setting. Moreover, the incubator generates a pleasantly low noise level (< 45 dBA).
The incubator easily adapts to space constraints. For instance, with just a few quick adjustments, the door hinge can be moved from one side to the other. And when things get hectic in the laboratory, users will really appreciate the incubator’s many user-friendly details: Hands full? No problem at all – the door closes automatically.
The incubator’s technical specifications have all been calculated according to DIN 12880 (May 2007). Permissible values are met or even exceeded.
