New BIOMEX safety shoe with innovative sole technology / Proven ankle protection with new technology – the BIOMEX FUSION S3

"FUSION S3" is the name of the latest model in the BIOMEX PROTECTION^© safety shoe series from ELTEN. The special ankle protection system has now been improved in many ways for this high-quality laced boot: A new cuff increases the stability of the ankle joint and at the same time gives it more mobility when walking. Furthermore the special rubber outsole of the "FUSION S3" is especially durable against the impact of heat, oils and fuels – and offers reliable footing on almost any surface.

The BIOMEX PROTECTION^© safety shoes series represents state-of-the-art technology for ankle protection during everyday work. The biomechanical plastic cuff of the high-tech shoe series surrounds the heel and ankle, and in this way stabilizes the ankle joint. For the latest BIOMEX^© generation, ELTEN has further developed these technologies in many areas – meaning that safety and comfort is increased even further.

The new "FUSION S3" laced boot is the first BIOMEX^© shoe to integrate a technically enhanced cuff. Until now, the moving cuff of the BIOMEX PROTECTION^© system was fastened with a heel cup from the exterior to the safety shoe. Thanks to the application of a special stirrup technique, the plastic cuff has now been permanently incorporated into the midsole. Through the more direct connection with the shoe in combination with the simultaneous effects of pressure and tension, the cuff now offers optimal stability – a typical dual burden in the case of twisted ankle accidents. Thanks to the change to a special plastic material, the cuff is lighter and more flexible than its predecessor.

A further innovation in the latest BIOMEX^© generation is a sole concept developed in cooperation with VIBRAM®. The "FUSION" is equipped with an extremely robust rubber PU sole. It is especially slip-resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 300 °C for short periods. Simultaneously the soft sole core of the new laced boot offers good shock absorption properties – for this reason a high level of comfort is ensured.

Furthermore, the comfortable fit and breathable lining of the BIOMEX^© "FUSION S3" offer high climate comfort in every weather. No matter whether in snowy, muddy or wet conditions – "FUSION S3" keeps your feet dry when you are outdoors thanks to its waterproof and breathable SYMPATEX® climate membrane, and still allows them to "breathe".

Despite all of these technical improvements, ELTEN has still placed value on the design of the new "FUSION". The transparent material of the new plastic cuff and the high quality embossing on the uppers emphasize the modern trekking-look of the laced boot. And through the combination of water-repellent nubuck leather and stain-resistant, heavy duty CORDURA® the surface area of the "FUSION" is not only extremely robust, but it also looks good.

The new "FUSION S3" from ELTEN has been tested and certified according to EN ISO 20345 S3.
