Line Spect Lightlines

By virtue of the higher conveyor speeds, line frequencies, and the multiplication of steadily smaller pixels, the functions of line cameras have become more complex. Hence the demand for high quality light sources has increased.

The Lightlines Line Spect provides light outputs of up to 3000 W/m² in a thin light line with high homogeneity. The operating distance and the line width are both adjustable to the requirement of the application by the incorporation of various optical components.

The Line Spect is a convincing alternative to other LEDs and incandescent sources by its innovative and unique concept. As a result of its inherent modularity, the performance of the Line Spect can be optimised to meet the demands of any most customer-specific illumination ranges. The wavelength and power output can be chosen and tuned to the requirements of the materials and application, the line length can be configured to suit the dimensions of the subject, the power supply is designed to interface with standard equipment, and efficient LED cooling delivers a host of additional benefits.

This illumination is suitable for use as transmitted and reflected light, in dark and bright fields not only with transparent materials, but also with light-impervious ones. All of the components are installed in a high quality, rugged and robust casing .

As a result of the most recent advances in LED-technology, new resolutions are available that are able replace metal vapor lamp systems by replicating their optical output profile in a highly-efficient way, and with further additional benefits.

Thanks to its modularity and high performance, the Line Spect meets even the highest requirements and is capable of providing full support to systems and installations that use 100kHz line frequency and high conveyor speeds.

Line Spect : Lightlines that meet the highest expectations

Modern railway inspection systems benefit from the free choice of the Lightline length, the variety of wavelengths, freedom from regular maintenance, and a variety of interfaces. The Line Spect is suitable for a variety of different illumination functions such as reflected and transmitted light in dark and bright fields, and for use with transparent and light-impervious materials. Both matt and reflecting surfaces can be illuminated. Furthermore, the Line Spect is suitable for many kinds of material that are to be processed onto reel packages. With lengths of up to 3m, systems can be set up or upgraded to the most modern standards and optimised for efficiency.

Active cooling

The Line Spect integrated water-cooling feature also results in further additional benefits. Water-cooling ensures high performance, even immediately after start-up. Simple lightlines based on LEDs show a lower efficiency at higher temperatures. However, the light output of the Line Spect remains highly efficient as a result of the active cooling. Even when used at very high temperatures, the performance and lifetime of the Line Spect series remains constantly high and unaffected.

Cooling can be conducted by means of active or passive cooling systems. These are offered in a set as an optional extra. If the installation has already been designed for water-cooling, the Line Spect can be integrated into it without difficulty. The power supply can be provided either separately or run from with a standard 44 V line.

The Line Spect can be controlled either via an analogue or digital input (serial or via Ethernet). In order to achieve this, the Line Spect is designed to provide a fast response time to an external control input. In addition, each module within a line can be controlled separately so as to balance any brightness variations and to enhance the homogeneity through the length.
