Disposable Sterile Connector

Sartorius Stedim Biotech has launched the Opta SFT-I sterile connector, a single-use device that allows sterile connection between two separate, pre-sterilized components in biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The connector combines well-established barrier system approaches with an enhanced qualification concept and with improved product features. The instruments consist of a female and a male coupling body that, once assembled, create a sterile fluid path via easy 4-step operation. In addition to offering 1/2 hose barbs, the range includes 1/4 and 3/8 hose barbs. All hose barb dimensions have been specifically designed to ensure the stability and the integrity of the coupling between the hose barb and various types of tubing. The connectors are 100% integrity-tested, gamma irradiated or sterilizable by autoclave.
