Falcon – A NEW 3-axis non-contact video measuring system from Vision Engineering Ltd.

Vision Engineering is a British company with over 50 years in designing and manufacturing ergonomic stereo inspection microscopes and non-contact optical and video measuring solutions.

New, powerful, and compact, the Falcon is the newest innovative, optical solution to fly into production at Vision Engineering. Vision Engineering’s experienced designers have done their research and delivered a high performance 3-axis video measuring system incorporating an indexed camera iris control to reduce depth of field, increasing the accuracy and repeatability of Z-axis results, a common complaint of video systems.

Geoff Newman, Senior Design Engineer explains why the new Falcon is a competitive video measuring solution.

“We have been researching ways in which to offer competitive video solution to engineers preferring to use video as an accurate way of measuring components parts. The Falcon incorporates an indexed camera with an iris control allowing engineers to utilise high magnification with the versatility of adjusting the depth of field during critical measurement. Despite the powerful capabilities of the Falcon, and unlike other video systems, its small compact design can easily fit onto the shop floor. This has proved to be an important factor for our customers, who need the flexibility of the system to take instantaneous measurement”.
