ERP/PPS and inventory control systems such as SAP are usually highly limited
in their communication capabilities with respect to standard distributions.
Expanded communication possibilities - even simple ones - must be purchased
expensively in the form of separate software modules, whereby not only the
initial outlay but also the subsequent installation and maintenance expense
and effort are great.
The W&T ERP-Gateway 2xDigital now enables simple control tasks to be carried
out with no special drivers or software. With the patented Wayback
procedure, only the generally available FTP protocol is used as a utility.
Switching commands are sent simply as part of the FTP login procedure by
means of the user name and the password. Nor does the user require special
access rights to the file system. Under SAP, for example, a simple
mouse-click or the occurrence of specified events can start an ABAP
procedure which sends switching pulses to production machines or triggers a
signaling column.
The ERP-Gateway 2xDigital is supplied in an approx. 25mm wide industrial DIN
rail mount housing and can be powered with 12-24V AC/DC. Both digital
outputs are short circuit protected, thermally fused and can provide up to
0.5A and drive a relay. In pulse mode, switching pulses of any polarity in a
range of 2ms can be generated for up to several days. Management and
configuration are entirely Web based.
