Access Announces the Worlds Smallest Security OCR Reader

Access IS has introduced the OCR310, the worlds smallest optical character recognition (OCR) module designed for OEM integration into portable devices such as hand-held digital assistants and ultra-mobile PCs. Applications include security checks at airport boarding gates, accelerating airport check-in and police identification checking. The module captures code lines from machine-readable travel documents including machine-readable passports, visas and travel cards conforming to ICAO Document 9303. In addition, APACS debit and credit documents can be read together with E13B OCRB and mixed E13B and OCRB fonts. Access proven OCR decoder technology ensures fast and accurate document reading. The device has low power consumption and a sleep facility. A developers kit is available to assist in the integration of the OCR310 into OEM equipment.
