High protective field ranges up to 6 meters

In addition to the ROTOSCAN RS4-4M device variants already presented this spring, which boast the new MotionMonitoring function, the growing Leuze electronic Safety Laser Scanner family now also features the ROTOSCAN RS4-6E and RS4-6M variants with a protective field range of up to 6.25 m. These new highlights are equipped with both the “Extended” function package for danger zone and access guarding, and the “MotionMonitoring” function package for transfer trolley operation.
Leuze electronic is consequently responding at precisely the right time to current market requirements – because with the new Laser Scanners, users can now also access Leuze electronic’s extensive and wide-ranging applications know-how with applications that require higher ranges. At the same, of course, where higher ranges are required, they can also utilize the tried, tested and proven benefits of the ROTOSCAN RS4 Safety Laser Scanner family in combination with Leuze electronic’s extensive applications know-how: Up to eight independent protective and warning fields, which can be changed over at any time during operation, can be programmed within the working area via the RS4soft configuration and diagnostics software.

The RS4soft PC software enables the simple and convenient configuration of the Safety Laser Scanner, which can therefore be precisely adjusted to the most diverse tasks: In addition to access guarding, the ROTOSCAN RS4-6E is also perfect for danger area guarding on stationary machines and mobile systems, as well as for vertical point of operation guarding with ranges of up to 6.25 meters. The resolution can vary between 30 and 150 mm. A reference boundary monitoring also ensures additional safety.

Whether it be hand protection, arm protection or full person protection, the type 3 in accordance with IEC/EN 61496-1/3 ROTOSCAN RS4 Safety Laser Scanner certified in accordance IEC 61508-SIL 2 and EN ISO 13849-1 Performance Level PL d flexibly adjusts in its latest device version to every situation where ranges of up to 6.25 meters are required. Needless to say of course, replacement devices or further RS4 Scanners can also be swiftly deployed with this 6-meter variant with the assistance of the intelligent ConfigPlug device plug – without any bothersome re-programming!
