Zwick’s roboTestP tensile testing system operates at 2000kN

Zwick’s latest automatic system for 100 % Standard-compliant testing of steel dumbbell specimens offers high speed and extreme reliability.

The fully automatic testing system consist of two materials testing machines with capacities of 2000 kN and 600 kN plus a magazine capable of holding 171 specimens and features automatic cross-section measurement. The system is suitable for testing steel dumbbell specimens 300 to 500 mm in length and up to 50 mm in thickness.

The specimens are tested of the appropriate machine according to predefined parameters. It is particularly noteworthy that manual testing can be performed on one machine while the other machine is ‘operated’ by the robotic specimen feeding system. Mechanical safety limit switches and safety devices on the relevant machine protect the operator.

Control of the whole system is via Zwick’s ‘auto Edition2’ software, while testing by the individual machines is carried out using testXpert^® software.

Users of these systems include steel manufacturers and fabricators with round-the-clock production.
