The new version of Sequentix DNA fingerprint analysis software package GelQuest and ClusterVis has been released. The software comprises two applications. Firstly, GelQuest for comparing DNA fingerprint profiles and for building a hyperbin table and a binary matrix and secondly ClusterVis for analysing binary matrix data using cluster analysis. The new features include the investigation of a populations structure by comparing the band intensities (area or height values) for mixed populations. Now theres the option to show the hyperbin table values as area or height values and as graphics. This feature is especially interesting for scientists who investigate changes in the population structure using t-RFLP profiles either in environmental samples or from batch culture experiments.
