Domino’s M-Series range of print and apply labellers is set to create a stir with the launch of the linerless model – the M500 – that responds to waste reduction, environmental issues and productivity improvement targets in equal measure. The elimination of backing for the self-adhesive labels means that waste is radically reduced and, with up to 100% more label material per roll than standard, the labeller can run for twice as long between roll changes, driving increased productivity. Further waste reduction is achieved by the eradication of the matrix around each label.
Increased flexibility is ensured by the capability of the M-Series Linerless to cut labels to the required size, which eliminates the need for changeover between products and therefore increases productivity. An added benefit of producing different sized labels from the same roll is that fewer variants in roll size are required, creating a significant overall reduction in costs. The contribution to supply chain efficiency goes much further: Domino has partnered with materials suppliers to develop specialised substrates that are compatible with case material from a recycling perspective. Using paper labels on cardboard and plastic labels on shrink-wrap means that contamination of reclaimed materials is avoided without any prior sorting required. Offering high quality printing of GS1 compliant bar codes, text and graphics to ensure supply chain compliance, the M-Series Linerless can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines.
