Today, Kontron introduced the extremely compact and COM Express compliant ETXexpress miniBaseboard with a footprint of merely 170 mm x 145mm.
For applications designed to run on COM Express compliant designs, the Kontron ETXexpress miniBaseboard serves as a universal platform for rapid software validation. Additionally, it is a cost-effective alternative to time-consuming full custom designs for small volume projects based on COM Express compliant ETXexpress modules.
These include the ETXexpress-PM (Intel
® Pentium
® M / Intel Celeron™ M ), ETXexpress-CD (Intel
® Core Duo), ETXexpress-MC (Intel
® Core2 Duo) and ETXexpress -CN8 (VIA
® C7 processor).
The ETXexpress miniBaseboard meets the design guidelines of the COM Express Extension and all the state-of-the-art interfaces are dedicated for accelerated application testing with freely scalable processor performance. Therefore, time-to market for COM Express-compliant ETXexpress embedded applications is significantly reduced. As with all of Kontron’s ETXexpress products, OEM customers benefit from long-term availability, robust construction and a function-tested, future-proof design.
At 170 mm x 145 mm and a height of only 1U including computer-on-module, the new Kontron ETXexpress miniBaseboard has a compact design for easy integration in almost every embedded application. OEMs also benefit from the optional power input ranging from 8.5V to 18V provided by the 4-pin ATX power connecter that makes integration into different applications even more convenient.
The Kontron ETXexpress miniBaseboard provides a host of communication interfaces including 1x PCI express x1 slot, 1x ExpressCard54 slot on the backside, 1x 32 bit PCI slot, 6 x USB 2.0 (four on the front and 2-on-pin header) and 1x Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. Also, storage media can connect to ETXexpress computer-on-modules via four SerialATA interfaces. Furthermore, one CF card slot and a 44-pin IDE interface are offered. The Kontron ETXexpress miniBaseboard also provides S3 cold support for PC sleep modes. Flat panels are controlled via two standardized JILI LVDS interfaces. Additional graphics are connected through a DVI output (with VGA support). Digital sound on optical SPDIF connector and pin header as well as HD audio with AC97 sound complete the feature set.
