The USB and PCI test and measurement hardware from Data Translation is “Ready for Vista.”
An updated version of the OmniCD is now available, containing the new hardware drivers and the corresponding software interfaces. Test and measurement engineers can thus immediately leverage the many enhancements and updates offered by Windows Vista.
The CD, which ships with all USB modules and PCI boards from Data Translation, comprises not only the new Windows drivers, but many other useful software components for both developers and users. Included are, for example, a C/C++ programming environment with sample executables and source code as well as a .NET class library. This gives developers an easy way to create their own test and measurement applications in Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and 2005. ActiveX components, drivers for LabVIEW and an interface for direct connection to the MATLAB analysis software are also provided on the CD. The simple-to-use data acquisition and analysis software quickDAQ, which also runs under Vista, complements and completes software package.
As the new hardware drivers are based on DT-Open Layers, no new programming is required to use the new operating system with existing Data Translation hardware; this applies to both the .NET and the C/C++ versions of the DT-Open Layers programming environment.
