Data Translation has further expanded its comprehensive range of USB data acquisition modules: The new DT-9837 features four separate Sigma-Delta A/D converters with 24-bit resolution and anti-aliasing filters. With a signal to noise ratio of 106 dB and being powered from USB2.0 this low-cost solution is optimized for sound, vibration and sonar measurements.
Its for each channel individual software-selectable 4 mA sensor supply, gain 1 or 10 and AC/DC coupling allow direct connection of accelerometers or microphones. The inputs can also be used for highest resolution of signal capture from any sensor offering a voltage output. The maximum sampling rate is 52 kHz for each of the 5 channels.
An additional tachometer input permits capturing speed data in real-time and synchronously with the analog data.
The USB data acquisition module also offers an analog output (24-bit) with software-selectable Butterworth filter and an input for an external trigger signal. All inputs and outputs are easy to connect via BNC connectors and can be run simultaneously and synchronously.
The module ships with a 32-bit WDM driver for Windows and a development kit for C programmers. A .NET class library is also included, which gives developers an easy way to create their own test and measurement applications in Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and 2005. The software package additionally provides ActiveX components, a driver for LabView and an interface for direct connection to the MATLAB analysis software.
