With the DT-9841-VIB USB data acquisition module, Data Translation introduces a low-cost multi-channel solution for the connection of IEPE and ICP sensors (e.g. accelerometers or microphones).
The robust desktop system provides eight programmable analog inputs that can be run simultaneously at up to 100 kHz per channel. 24-bit Sigma-Delta A/D converters with integrated anti-aliasing filters - which are also programmable - achieve a particularly high signal-to-noise ratio of over 110 dB. All channels are protected by galvanic isolation. The signals can be processed by an onboard DSP, and the results transmitted to the PC at up to 480 Mbits/s via the USB 2.0 interface.
The 4 mA current source for the ICP sensors as well as DC or AC coupling and the low pass filter are software selectable. The module also features two analog outputs (24-bit, 100 kHz each) with software-selectable low-pass filter, 16 digital channels and three 32-bit counters which can be used as tachometer inputs. This allows capturing speed data in real-time, synchronously with the analog data. All analog and digital I/Os can be operated simultaneously and synchronously.
The module comes with a package of matching software components for smooth integration of the module into custom applications. The software package includes DLLs for programming the real-time data processing in C (TI CodeComposer Studio required) as well as DLLs for programming the PC application and the communication between module and host in C++. Software interfaces for LabView and Visual Basic are also available. The DT Measure Foundry/RTS software makes developing applications simple and fast, and allows the easy configuration of real-time systems using property pages.
