Portable Infrared Thermometers for Noncontact Temperature Measurement

The technology company Optris GmbH specializes in the development, production and sales of contactless infrared thermometers. The product range comprises online sensors as well as portable infrared cameras and pyrometers which are predominantly used for maintenance and process control.

The portable infrared thermometers of the optris MiniSight MS line combine the latest industrial design with outstanding technical features. These thermometers quickly scan temperatures ranging from -32 up to 530°C within 0.3 seconds, only. The high-class precision lens, supporting a distance-to-spotsize-ratio of 20:1, allows to accurately measure even smallest objects the size of 13 mm. The optris MiniSightPlus offers the following additional features: adjustable emissivity (for manifold object surfaces) and high-/low-alarm.

The new infrared thermometers optris LaserSight LS enable accurate noncontact temperature measurements ranging from -35 to 900°C of objects as small as 1 mm. The new worldwide patented laser sighting system supports the exact marking of the spotsize. The laser crosshairs combined with an optical resolution of 75:1 allow accurate temperature measurements at any distance. A switch enables the user to shift into a close focus viewing. Two single laser beams meet at the smallest measuring spot of 1 mm. Even the LCD display follows the viewing position – whether horizontal or vertical measurements: a position sensor turns the display into the corresponding direction. A USB interface and a graphic and reporting software with oscilloscope function help to analyze measuring data on the PC. Furthermore, the LS can be used with a thermocouple element.

The portable thermal imagers of the optris InfraSight IS line measure temperatures between -20 and 250°C, optionally up to 900°C. With outstanding temperature resolutions, exchangeable lenses with opening angles ranging from 9° to 61° (additional microscope lens), data memories for up to 200 infrared images and software packages for analysis, reporting and processing purposes of IR-images and IR-video sequences, these cameras offer an optimized user package for applications in electrical and mechanical maintenance, building-site analysis and process control.
