Macroscopic Imaging System – Aequoria Darkbox

2-dimensional luminescence and fluorescence image acquisition and image analysis require special detector and data processing systems. The brand new AEQUORIA™ imaging system was designed for fluorescence and luminescence applications and named after the jellyfish Aequorea Victoria, in which the Aequorin luminescence and the GFP fluorescence was discovered.

Every Hamamatsu camera can be mounted by an easily exchangeable adapter to a dark box, the systems main component. With the different cameras ranging from a standard ORCA-AG to the most sensitive camera, the water cooled EB-CCD camera, the system opens numerous possibilities of detection of faint luminescence and fluorescence in the wavelength range from 300 nm to 1100 nm. Together with the fully computer controlled options, Hamamatsu is offering an imaging solution for all purposes:

For all small animal researchers or MTP reader applications, a computer controlled heating plate (room temperature to 40°C) can be added. Together with the very flexible guide through and ventilation system, the dark box can be upgraded to the ideal environment for screening small animals. An emission filter wheel enables the user to do multi-labelled fluorescence, fluorescence and luminescence simultaneously or dual luminescence like Renilla/Firefly luciferase. Within the standard dark box, everything can be imaged from root tips, single wells of 1.536 well plates, knee-joints of mice to full body rats or plants. Further on, we offer specialized dark boxes for specimen not fitting into the standard type.
