Using special, diagonally arranged LED lighting units and homogeneous LED ring lighting from above, you can take the picture, analyze the position of the components (presence and position) and check the features (soldered joints, polarities, short circuits, etc) separately. For component detection it is always important to accurately locate the housing corners as well as the typical features. With low-quality housings or dark PCB materials (black component on a dark circuit board), correctly detecting components is often problematic. The diagonally arranged lighting units are an optimum means of making corners and features visible and thus allow them to be analyzed.
Homogeneous light from above provides excellent results when checking soldered joints. For this purpose, you take several pictures with different illumination for each table position. These illumination profiles can be saved in the library for the different housing types, which allows you to use them again in every new test program without any programming effort.
For Schneider & Koch, easy operation and the advantages of using tools in the process of series debugging have always been a top priority. In addition to being user-friendly, the system offers a high test depth and thus reliably detects critical errors – even in the case of extreme clock cycle requirements.
The AOI systems from Schneider & Koch are available from Rohde & Schwarz Vertriebs GmbH.
