The A600 Family is Growing

The A600f family of IEEE 1394 cameras, well known for its small housing and exceptional ease of use, is getting new members. The A631f/fc and A641f/fc are based on 1.45 and 2 megapixel CCD sensors respectively. At full resolution, the A631 runs at nearly 19 frames per second (fps) and the A641 at 14 fps. With a housing size comparable to a typical analog camera, these new models represent another step forward in the "Analog Goes Digital" trend.
The cameras are based on progressive scan CCD sensors and both models are available in monochrome and color. The 1/2" sensor used in the A631 has a resolution of 1392 x 1040 pixels and each pixel is 4.65 µm square. The A641f camera has a 1/1.8" sensor with 1624 x 1236 resolution and 4.4 µm square pixels. Basler launched the A641f/fc at the Vision Show West in San Jose, California.
These new cameras are the first to include CCD sensors in the A600 housing. As with many other Basler cameras, the maximum frame rate can be increased by using the area of interest (AOI) feature. Many new applications will be possible with these small, powerful, high-resolution cameras. And with a long exposure mode now included as part of Basler's Smart Features Framework (SFF), shutter time can be set at up to 5 seconds (uncooled).
