The imc Graphics Terminal enables PC-independent operation of any imc measurement device equipped with a Display connection terminal. Its functionality is limited to the essentials for conducting measurements (opening experiments, Start, Stop etc.) and enables flexible and quick graphical online display of the measured data.
For running the measurement data capture systems, the PC is the standard but not necessarily always the best option. This is especially true under extreme operating conditions and whenever the operating and display parameters are fixed or need to be limited in scope.
Using a graphical display is especially advantageous in many applications with permanent measurement configurations, for example in test rigs.
In rugged conditions, as well, PCs are at a clear disadvantage. An example is the instrumentation for vehicles in Summer- or Winter-testing. In such settings, there is heavy shaking, and the measurements are conducted in extreme ambient temperature ranges (-40°C to + 85°C). In strong sunlight, a PC’s monitor may provide insufficient visibility, and at low temperatures, conventional TFT- or LCD- indicators don’t work because the crystals are simply frozen.
For all these cases in which a PC is technically impracticable, a graphics terminal was developed in collaboration with and at the behest of a car manufacturer for the operation of data capture systems.
The Graphics Terminal enables PC-independent operation of any imc measurement device equipped with a Display connection terminal. Its functionality is limited to the essentials for conducting measurements (opening experiments, Start, Stop etc.) and enables flexible and quick graphical online display of the measured data.
The functions and graphical display styles of the Display can be configured using the Display Editor of the operating software imc Devices 2.5.
