FMS

The Lido FMS (Flight Management System) database provides the autopilot in the cockpit with data and is already in use at more than 100 airlines wordwide. The basis for the FMS databases is the Lido navigation database. It contains all aeronautical data available world-wide and represents the entire structure of the airspace and other aviation-relevant information both comprehensively and reliably. An important source of information for the Lido navigation database is provided by the Aeronautical Information Publications (AIPs), published regularly by the civil aviation authorities (CAA) of every country. They contain information about changes to the airspace structure or to flight procedures at airports, for example.

For data access during a flight, the Lido FMS database is supplied with an extract from the Lido navigation database that is specially designed for the aircraft concerned. As specified by the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO, the FMS databases are configured for 28 days at a time and subsequently replaced by an updated version.
