SICK has rounded out its distance measurement portfolio with a compact distance sensor: the DT 10 in the tried-and-tested W18 photoelectric switch housing. The device is designed for distances between 50 mm and 500 mm. Measured values are provided via a 4 - 20 mA analogue output. The teachable switching output also allows transmission of a freely defined value.
The DT 10 operates through LED red-light transmission directly onto the target object. Its high resolution, in combination with short measurement cycles, ensures high distance measurement accuracy at short ranges.
Plug & play concept
The sensor's plug & play concept ensures maximum user convenience: important DT 10 function parameters, e.g. resolution, are pre-defined at the factory so that the sensor can even be put into operation without a user manual. Installation has been further simplified through the use of the versatile mounting and connector technology familiar from the W 18 series of photoelectric switches, among others. Thus there is nothing to prevent rapid installation and commissioning of the distance sensor, e.g. for detecting filling levels in hoppers or for regulating loop or web slack.
