Vector is offering CANopen system and component developers a number of new functions in its CANoe.CANopen 3.2 software tool. Users will benefit from the simplified generation and handling of simulations. Databases that are available for device and application profiles - CiA DSP417, DSP418, DSP419 and DSP422 - make it significantly easier to perform analytical work.
It is now also possible to create a simulation for CANopen devices, for which no complete electronic description exists in EDS format. The CANeds tool is used as an editor for the object directory. It is now part of the ProCANopen that is supplied with CANoe.CANopen.
After generating a simulation with ProCANopen the simulation data are automatically transferred to CANoe.CANopen. Since it is no longer necessary to import data, the generated simulation environment can be implemented more quickly.
Besides the "Lift Control" (CiA DSP417) and "CleANOpen" (CiA DSP422) application profiles, "Batteries and battery chargers" (CiA DSP418/DSP419) are also supported by predefined databases in the analysis. Symbolic representation of CAN messages and the data they contain makes it easier for the system developer to interpret information from the analysis and to utilize this information more effectively. Effective immediately, CANoe.CANopen 3.2 can also simulate the functionality of a SDO manager and a "SDO Requesting Device" (SRD) per CiA DS302, whereby SDO connections are managed dynamically. That is how the user verifies whether this functionality has been implemented properly in the system.
