GlobeGround Berlin Optimised by GroundStar

GlobeGround Berlin has implemented the complete GroundStar suite at the Tegel and Schönefeld airports.

GlobeGround Berlin is the only full-service provider and leading ground handler at the two major airports serving Berlin. With about 1,300 employees, GlobeGround Berlin offers its services to over 100 airlines.
"For GlobeGround Berlin, GroundStar represents a solid combination of human resources, technologies and IT-systems. This broad package supports us in optimising our internal processes and procedures, making GlobeGround Berlin fit for the future", says Jochen Kröhan, Managing Director GlobeGround Berlin.

GroundStar covers practically every GlobeGround handling area at both airports: station control, cleaning, loading, ramp agents, de-icing, towing, check-in and boarding. The level of functionality that has been implemented ranges from planning and operations to administration, including staff rostering and equipment planning, real-time allocation and control, as well as processes related to contracting, tracking and invoicing of ground handling services.

The GroundStar module for the allocation of equipment and staff in real-time incorporates special features such as an integrated management for handling contracts. All contracted and extra services are controlled by the system. Data about the services rendered is fed to GlobeGround's SAP invoicing system. The "Station Control" feature includes an overall view of all departments showing all handling tasks as they take place in real-time. SITA messages are automatically interpreted, displayed and transmitted to other airports and areas, thus efficiently supporting GlobeGround efforts to manage ground operations and to minimise flight delays.
