B.A.P. is Back

Immunodiagnostic Systems have announced the release of the Octeia Ostase Bone Alkaline Phosphatase (BAP) EIA. The company and Beckman Coulter have signed an agreement in which Beckman Coulter grants IDS exclusive rights to manufacture, market and sell worldwide the company's Ostase Microplate (MP) bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BAP) microplate assay. The product uses patented technology to indicate the activity of bone forming cells called osteoblasts by quantifying levels of BAP, a substance in the blood that reflects bone collagen formation in normal and disease states. The assay is very fast and is less than half the time to result than existing manual methods on the market.
