Automated No-D NMR

Jeol USA announced automated No-D NMR, providing a fast, easy way for the synthetic organic chemist to run NMR experiments without using deuterated solvents. The company automates the entire process from setup to data processing with the advanced Deltatm software of the ECA and ECX series NMR spectrometers. No-deuterium proton NMR spectrometry has been underutilized as a viable means of analyzing pure compounds and reaction mixtures due to the perception that it is difficult to obtain NMR data in the presence of non-deuterated solvents. However, researchers can now easily and selectively wipe out unwanted solvent peaks in protonated solvents by using suppression techniques now common to all modern NMR spectrometers.
