Simplified interlocking and locking of rotating doors

The product range of L-shaped safety door interlocks of the type series TZK from Elan, Wettenberg/of this manufacturer has been extended by new versions. The slim design with side operating head is particularly suitable for interlocking and locking of rotating doors in fencing made of commercially available aluminium profile systems or similar.

The design makes it particularly easy to install the devices on the inside of the machine compartment without needing special attachment kits, mounting brackets etc. The special new feature is that the separate actuator for the safety door interlocks has a centring piece which is inserted directly into the grooves (8/10 mm) of the respective profile system. This design feature means that the installed depth of the devices can be reduced to only 54 mm. A new feature of the TZK product range is also the possibility of mirror-inverted installation of the devices via two adapter plates. Type TZK-APLV is intended for right-hung doors and type TZK-APLVD for left-hung doors.

In the same way as all other versions in the TZ range, the new TZK versions are particularly characterised by the generously designed interaction between actuator and operating head. The funnel-shaped entry of the operating heads of the devices tolerates certain inaccuracies in the guide of the moving guard which may have existed from the start or which have developed over the course of time. The funnel shape causes the actuator to self centre when the guard is closed. This largely avoids any faults in the interaction between the actuator fixed to the guard and the actuating head of a safety door interlock. The maximum admissible misalignment is ± 4 mm. In addition the design of actuator and actuating mechanism also permits tolerances in closed or locked states of the guard, i.e. a "play" of approximately 5 mm.

The devices are offered both as spring-operated (closed-circuit current based) versions and as solenoid power-operated (working current based) versions, optionally with manual release, emergency exit and emergency release. They comply with the special safety requirements of EN 1088. All standard versions are BIA/BG prototype tested.
