Setting a new standard in piping systems the new Ball Valve Type 546 from Georg Fischer
In response to the needs of our customers and the desire to further improve an excellent product, Georg Fischer, a leading provider of plastic piping systems, has developed a new ball valve the 2-way ball valve type 546. It not only substitutes the proven ball valve type 346, but it also offers plant engineers and operators an innovative system with many useful extension modules.
Safety and reliability, as required by the market, are achieved with the innovative plastics-oriented buttress thread on valve nuts and union bush. The new ball valve has a much shorter installation length compared to its predecessor and thus sets new standards in compact plant construction. The state-of-the-art design, integrated fastening system in the valve base and an ergonomic lever in two different versions are just some of the many new features, which contribute measurable added value for the customer.
Also a part of the system is a new generation of actuators designed for modularity and flexibility. The pneumatic actuators, PA 11 and PA 21, and the electric actuators, EA 11 and EA 21, offer a wide range of accessories in addition to an all-plastic housing with high protection rating.
The multifunctional module provides a connection for multiple uses and considerably expands the number of functions of the 546 ball valve. It is mounted directly on the ball valve in just a few simple steps and serves as a flexible electric feedback unit for the manual valve. A selection of five types of limit switches is available. It is simultaneously a standardized, mechanical interface for mounting actuators.
The new system offers a wide range of connecting elements as well as a mounting plate and plastic pipe clips, the centre lines of which are matched throughout the system. A CAD product library with 2D and 3D data in all the conventional formats supports efficient plant planning.
The product configurator makes it easier for users to order exactly the 546 ball valve they need for their specific applications.
