Ximea presents an update of already miniature 5 Mpix industrial camera to a higher resolution and faster speed model while keeping the extreme small size benefits. With newly available, state of the art FPGA, micro connectors and other components it became possible to achieve enhanced resolution and speed at low enough heat dissipation. Finding the right sensor was a big task and 5K CMOS with 18 Mpix (4912x3684) truly offers high resolution for most of the applications.

Helpful is triggering and synchronizing multiple cameras through GPIO without the need of expensive frame grabbers or special, complicated software. To present the tiny footprint of the new model objectively, here are the exact numbers for housing which measures mere 15x15 mm and weighs only 5 grams. Another aspect making the camera uniquely suitable for portable devices is power consumption consisting of just 1 Watt and sparing the possible batteries. Moreover, the camera is powered via USB3 cable eliminating additional accessories and thus unnecessary weight.
