OCR Dot Matrix Reader: Dots Remain Dots

Matrox SureDot OCR is the first OCR technology specifically designed to overcome the challenges of reading dot-matrix text produced by industrial inkjet printers, particularly on packaging lines in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Existing solutions for reading dot-matrix text are limited because they involve image pre-processing to form solid-stroked text prior to using traditional OCR. The software handles compressed, stretched and skewed characters; rotated and scaled text strings; varying contrast; uneven backgrounds and other anomalies.
