Thermal desorption (TD) is a sample preparation technique for gas chromatography.
The thermo conditioner Clean-Cube of SIM removes impurities from the TD tubes before they are used for sample collection, because absolutely clean tubes are essential for a highly sensitive, reproducible measurement. Up to 20 tubes are heated simultaneously under precisely controlled conditions (max. 400 °C, 3 ramps). Besides default methods, you can save individual temperature programs. For high purity requirements a gas filter can be added at the purge gas in-port.
Time and purge gas are saved by fast cooling down of the tubes and an automatic purge gas shut-off as soon as the tubes are removed. The conditioning is completely independent of the TD system so that GC column and detector are protected.
