The high-performance N1-QM87 embedded system from DSM Computer's NanoServer family integrates the Intel QM87 chipset and an Intel Core processor of the fourth generation. The compact computer that offers high computing, graphical and video performance is installed in a robust 204 x 226 x 79 mm industrial housing.
For system expansions, the high-end NanoServer N1-QM87 provides a PCI Express x16 slot for short cards. Two internal Mini PCI Express x1 slots, one of which is designed to provide mSATA support, are also integrated. A 60 GB mSATA SSD (Solid State Drive) or larger without any moving parts and extensive wiring is installed as standard. The mSATA SSD permits the fast start of the computer and operates more reliably than an HDD in the harsh industrial environment. As an option, the system can also be equipped with up to two 2.5 inch SSDs/HDDs, one of which is directly accessible from the maintenance-friendly base cover.
As standard, the compact embedded system is equipped with the fourth-generation Intel Core processor i5-4400E with two cores (2.7 GHz, 3 MB). Despite its high performance, thanks to an innovative ventilation concept, this module is designed for an operating temperature range of 0° - 50° C. For more sophisticated applications, the Box IPC can be supplied optionally with the quad-core Intel Core i7-4700EQ (2.4 GHz, 6 MB) that operates at temperatures up to 45° C. The Intel HD4600 graphic controller integrated in the processor ensures excellent video and graphic performance. The fast onboard DDR3 RAM main memory can be expanded to a maximum capacity of 16 GB.
Various interfaces simplify the connection of the high-performance embedded system. In addition to the DVI-I, DVI-D and DisplayPort graphical interfaces for two independent, high-resolution displays, four external USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 (two external, four internal) ports are available for fast data transfer. Two 1000 Base-T LAN interfaces, four serial connections (three RS232, one RS232/422/485), audio and internal Serial ATA for four SATA III 600 devices and two SATA II 300 devices (RAID 0, 1, 0+1,5 configurable for all connections) complete the offering. The embedded system provides a 12/24 VDC wide-range power input and an external 100 - 240 VAC power pack (120 W).
