DSM Computer presented at the SPS IPC Drives in Hall 7, Booth 150, its high-performance NanoServer N2-QM87 embedded system that integrates a 4th generation Intel Core processor and the Intel QM87 chipset. The compact industrial computer offers highest computing, graphical and video performance in a compact 204 x 226 x 109 mm housing.
As standard, the high-end NanoServer N2-QM87 is equipped with the 4th generation Intel Core i5-4400E processor with two cores (2.7 GHz, 3 MB). For high-end applications, a model with quad-core Intel Core i7-4700EQ (2.4 GHz, 6 MB) is available as option. The Intel HD4600 graphic controller integrated in the processor is characterized with its high video and graphic performance. The fast DDR3 RAM main memory can be expanded to a maximum capacity of 16 GB.
Despite its high performance, thanks to an innovative ventilation concept, the robust Core i5 processor is designed for an operating temperature range of 0° - 50° C. The Box IPC with Core i7 operates reliably at temperatures as high as 45° C.
For system expansions, the NanoServer N2-QM87 provides two PCI Express x8 slots for short cards. A PCI Express x16 and a PCI Express x1 slot are offered as option. The embedded system integrates two Mini PCI Express x1 slots (internal), one of which is designed to provide mSATA support. A 60 GB mSATA SSD (Solid State Drive) or larger is installed as standard. Optionally, the system can also be equipped with up to two 2.5 inch SSDs/HDDs, one of which is directly accessible from a screwed-on base cover.
The compact N2-QM87 embedded system offers several useful interfaces. The four fast external USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 (2 external, 4 internal) ports ensure fast data transfer. In addition to four serial connections (3 x RS232, 1 x RS232/422/485) and audio, Serial ATA for four SATA III 600 devices and two SATA II 300 devices (RAID 0, 1, 0+1,5 configurable for all connections) are available internally. The DVI-I, DVI-D and DisplayPort interfaces allow the connection of two independent, high-resolution displays. On request, the two 1000 Base-T LAN interfaces can be augmented with Wireless LAN 802.11. A 12/24 VDC wide-range input is available for the power supply via an external 100-240 VAC power pack (120 W).
