Applied Scientific Instrumentation (ASI) has announced that they now offer ultra-precise motorized stage systems for the Olympus IX73/83 microscopes. ASI’s precision stages are specifically designed to provide a high resolution, and highly repeatable, means of controlling the X, Y, and Z position.
The stages utilize crossed-roller bearing, high-precision lead screws, and zero-backlash closed-loop DC servomotors with built in rotary encoders that provide resolutions of 100 nm and repeatability < 700 nm rms. Optional linear encoders improve the XY resolution to 10 nm with repeatability < 300 nm rms. Also available are XY stages with integrated piezo Z top plates offering 150 to 500 microns travel with nanometer resolution and repeatability, plus specialty stages for stand-alone, OEM, and custom systems.
