The Ultra-Slim Panel PCs that DSM Computer is presenting for the first time at the sps ipc drives 2012 in Hall 7, Booth 150 are available in two variants. The PN17-A2 Panel PC has a 43 cm (17 inch) TFT display with 5-wire single touchscreen; the PN15-A2 model has a similar 38 cm (15 inch) display. The luminance of the displays with LED backlight is 350 or 400 cd/m², respectively; the maximum resolution is 1280 x 1024 (PN17-A2) or 1024 x 768 (PN15-A2).
Despite their very small installation depth of approximately 50 mm, the robust Panel PCs offer a wide range of interfaces via various extension I/Os. In addition to the serial connections, USB 2.0, VGA and DVI-I, two LAN interfaces that support the EtherCAT protocol are supported as standard. The integrated solid state disk (SSD), the optional hard disk drive (HDD) and the Compact Flash memory are accessible externally and easy to replace.
The robust, Ultra-Slim Panel PC family is based on the current Intel dual-core Atom D2550 processor platform with two computing cores (1.86 GHz) and the Intel NM10 chipset. Thanks to the energy efficiency of the processor, the display systems do not require a fan when operating in the temperature range 0° – 45° C.
The cable-less Panel PCs are installed in a high-quality, solid industrial housing with an aluminum front panel that conforms to the IP65 degree of protection. On request, the front panel is also available in stainless steel. The front panel can be supplied on customer request in different colors and with a customer-specific label. An external 60 W, 90 – 264 VAC power pack that supplies power to the Panel PCs belongs to the program.
The PN17-A2 and PN15-A2 Panel PCs are suitable for process plant engineering applications, for process visualization and control as well as deployment in the food & beverage sector, for example. The systems conform to the FFC regulations, Class A. DSM Computer offers a two year warranty for the CE-conform products.
