Sunlight-readable LED touch PCs and monitors for the industrial arena

For application areas with difficult lighting conditions such as large glass fronts, for example, Advantech's Industrial Automation Group has presented a series of devices that are especially designed to ensure good readability in bright sunlight. With 1000 cd/m², the devices' displays are also suitable for outdoor use. This advantage over standard displays with 300-400 cd/m² is further enhanced by the use of optical bonding technology. Optical bonding fills the gap between the glass and the LCD, thus strengthening the display's structure and providing for a surface reflection of less than 0.2 percent.

The three available models TPC-1251SR, TPC-1551SR and FPM-3151SR are designed for use in harsh environments with extreme temperatures from -20 to +60°C. The 12- and 15-inch touch panel computers (TPCs) are equipped with SVGA and XGA displays as well as an Intel Atom processor, while the flat-panel monitor (FPM) features a resistive touchscreen and direct VGA and DVI ports.
