Dye-Free Imaging of Native Samples

Leica TCS CARS is the first integrated confocal system with the capability for Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering (CARS) imaging. The microscope system is based on the Leica TCS SP5 II and benefits from imaging at video rate and a resolution of 8 x 8 MPixel for morphological studies.

A staining or markers are not necessary for imaging, since CARS signals are generated from the vibrational motion of molecules in specimens. The CARS technology is non-toxic and minimally invasive and perfectly meets the requirements of life scientists.
