Reducing Water Consumption

The compact Minichiller from Huber reduces water consumption to zero, offering a low cost, chilled water supply with environmentally friendly refrigeration for a variety of laboratory applications. A calculation based on water consumption shows that the instrument saves approximately 48,000 liters of water a week. It is designed as a space saving tower and with a footprint of 225 x 360 mm.

The apparatus takes up less bench space than many laptops. With a temperature range of -20 to +40°C and cooling capacity of 300 watts at 15°C, it can be used for cooling reaction blocks, vapor traps, vacuum pump condensers, rotary evaporators or heat exchangers, supplying predictable and correct pressure, flow and temperature to applications resulting in tangible process efficiencies. Because the internal volume is only 2 liters, it eliminates the risk of flooding in the laboratory.
