Cobolt AB, Swedish manufacturer of high performance diode pumped solid state lasers, reveals ground-breaking laser technology in the UV range. The Cobolt ZoukTM is the world’s first really compact, true continuous wave (CW) solid state laser at 355 nm.
The wavelength of 355 nm is particularly useful for efficient excitation of DAPI, Hoechst 33342 and Indo-1, common fluorophores used in stem cell research, DNA analysis and Ca2+ experiments. With 10 mW output power and a perfect TEM00 beam, the Cobolt ZoukTM is a compact and power efficient alternative to legacy gas laser Ar/Kr-ion UV lines, quasi-CW UV lasers and diode lasers for demanding applications in fluorescence based bioanalysis such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and high content analysis.
The Cobolt ZoukTM completes Cobolt’s range of high performance solid state lasers to the fluorescence based bioanalytical industry, including 457 nm, 473 nm, 491 nm, 515nm, 532 nm, 561 nm, and 594 nm lasers with output powers levels up to 1W.
