Steris has launched the Biogienie, a hydrogen peroxide disinfectant delivery system specifically designed to provide safe and effective bio-decontamination in clinical settings. This compact maneuverable system complements the existing range of the companys vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) solutions, offering rapid and simple reduction of pathogens such as MRSA, C. difficile, E. coli, and norovirus, to create a safer environment for patients and healthcare professionals. The system uses Hyproxil Active disinfectant cartridges combining just six per cent hydrogen peroxide with colloidal silver to offer a high level of bioprotection. This disinfectant offers very high biocidal performance. The cartridge-based system uses onboard liquid and pressure sensors to ensure reliable operation with automated shutdown in the event of a leak and further enhances operator safety by eliminating direct contact with the disinfectant.
