Bus modules from Balluff combine sophisticated design with high functionality and durability. This becomes especially apparent in the new IO modules for Profibus and Profinet in IP 67 fully potted metal housings of nickel plated zinc die castings, all for the same price as conventional plastic types. Designed for the demands of harsh industrial environments, these distribution modules withstand dust, shock, vibration, lubricants or even corrosive fluids. They are the ideal choice for implementing decentralized automation concepts without the control cabinet and with IP 67 enclosure ratings.
Numerous useful details make using these modules a pleasure. Features include a flat, space-saving profile with rounded edges and generous space for labeling. And for time-saving fastening all you need are two mounting points, which stubbornly resist mechanical over-tightening. The Balluff input blocks offer dual input points for each connector. The inputs can then be doubled using V-splitters to support sensors with two outputs (signals and diagnostics). The user always has an overview, since each M12 port (I/O interface) is associated with two bright, highly visible LEDs for indicating the respective operating states and configurations. The Profibus address is set directly on the module using two BCD switches, and a software tool is sued to assign the address for the Profinet module.
