Perfection with a Capital "P" at Halloren
Founded in 1804 in Halle, the Halloren Chocolate Factory AG is the oldest chocolate factory still producing in Germany. The successful traditional company employs 337 co-workers and relies on the most moderns techniques and materials not only to fulfill its own high standards but also to satisfy external regulations. "Everything must be perfect at a food industry firm. It is our obligation to always be on top of the newest technology in order to be able to offer the client the most perfect product." Furthermore, company director Ralf Schlusnus adds, "We are a factory made of glass. Each visitor can peer over our shoulder whenever he likes. Every day we are visited by hundreds of chocolate lovers who are interested in our production processes as well in our products."
The door system, which must be of the highest quality in order to meet modern standards, plays a prominent roll in maintaining consistent work conditions in the food industry. "We have investigated the various door system suppliers in order to find one we feel we can trust. We have, therefore, selected Albany Door Systems." The Chocolate Factory, which boasts a sales turnover of 30,1 Million Euros for 2007, praises the long-term cooperation with Albany Door Systems. Together they were able to select the optimal door for the individual requirements of the company.
The results are obvious. The RapidRoll® 300 Plus is perfectly suited to fulfill the high functional and aesthetic requirements of the Halloren Chocolate Factory. First and foremost are the strict regulations for hygiene and cleanliness. "Thanks to the construction of the high speed door, cleaning goes easily and quickly," reports the experienced Ralf Schlusnus. Another criteria for the selection of the RapidRoll® 300 Plus is its reliability. By Halloren, production must run smoothly. Delays or interruptions in the steady flow of goods can have serious consequences. The long life and low-maintenance construction of the high performance door from Albany Door Systems guarantee long-term, reliable planning. Moreover, the transparent panels, which provide optimal protection against collision, prove to be optically integrated in the Chocolate Factory. "The transparency of the door fits very well aesthetically in our glass factory," says company director Ralf Schlusnus. Fundamental in the food industry are room and climate separation.
For the manufacture of chocolate products and their storage, different room temperatures are prerequisites for perfect products. Thanks to the room and climate separation offered by the RapidRoll® 300 Plus, it is possible to maintain constant temperatures in adjacent rooms of up to 5ºC without a problem. "Our production allows for no variation in temperature," says Schlusnus. Moreover, thermal separation makes a sustainable reduction of energy costs possible. In times of extreme increases in oil and gas prices, environmental protection and controlling unite successfully. A further important aspect is the protection against draft.
Through fast opening and closing times of the RapidRoll® 300 Plus, loss of temperature and the intrusion of dirt and foreign particles is prevented. This is possible because the RapidRoll® 300 Plus eliminates draft, the generator of these particles. The attractive price/performance ratio of the RapidRoll® 300 Plus seems to be as sweet as chocolate for some firms. The company director sums up, "With the Albany Door Systems Company and its product, the RapidRoll® 300 Plus, we have found the perfect partner for our work."
