High Throuput Screening of Cell Growth and Protein Production

The production of recombinant proteins is a promising and thereby steadily growing field in industrial biotechnology. Regardless of the expressing organisms bacteria, yeast or animal cells, the key challenge is to identify the right clones and their optimal cultivation parameters.

The Dasgip BioLector is designed for these early research phases of cell culture and microbial fermentation processes: It is perfect for high throughput cell line and strain selection, media and substrate screening and optimisation as well as comprehensive automation.

Significant Results and Excellent Reproducibility in µl-Scale

As a microtiter-plate instrument the BioLector allows the parallel online observation of the most common process parameters in up to 96 samples with working volumes of 100 µl to 1000 µl. By operating under controlled temperature, humidity and surface aeration it provides optimal growth conditions for different cell types. Non-invasive optical sensors enable real time monitoring of pH, dissolved oxygen as well as optical density in each well. Adjustable continuous and efficient shaking support aerobic cultures perfectly. By measuring fluorescent signals it is even possible to directly generate building kinetics of fusion proteins. The standard plate format eases integration into liquid handling systems and guarantees the compatibility with various plate assays.
