With the Oxyreduct fire prevention system the flammability of materials is reduced by means of a reduced oxygen concentration. A decisive factor for the variant "Rapid Reduction" is the fact that with an oxygen concentration of 17 Vol% a reduced fire risk for the materials present can be assumed. Smoke extraction systems monitor the residual fire risk. A fire which is starting is detected in the pyrolisis phase, so that the rapid reduction can come into effect. Within a few minutes the oxygen level is reduced to the safety level. This oxygen concentration can be permanently held, which prevents the spread of the fire. Authorised persons have access and can take action immediately. The system was approved by the Vds Schadenverhütung GmbH in July 2008.
