XperiDesk (consisting of
XperiDesign,
XperiFication,
XperiLink and
XperiShare) offers a complete software environment for all phases of the process development cycle – from the first concepts to the transfer of the manufacturing process into fabrication or to a partner. The software system offers complete support for the development process and can be adapted to the methodology of the customers.
During the design phase
XperiDesign allows for clear oversight of the existing process steps and –sequences and
XperiFication support the assessment of the manufacturability of newly assembled sequences. With that the structural integrity of a sequence can be verified to prevent equipment damage and contamination and perform sanity checks on the sequences. For the next level of pre-fab verification the system offers an interface to emulation and simulation tools. This interface automatically captures all emulation and simulation results and allows integrating them into the knowledge base. This enables the process engineer to compare simulation results with the real experimental data and to evaluate the quality of the simulation.
After successfully verifying a new sequence together with a new device design the resulting recipe can be forwarded to experimental fabrication via a MES interface. After the experimental fabrication all assessment (pictures, measurement data, etc.) and other development results are accumulated inside
XperiLink and can be related to each other. All relevant data sets can be correlated with each other to extract dependencies and coherences. A semi-automatic correlation eases and shortens the development cycle and provides for optimal development results.
Another module of
XperiDesk is
XperiShare covering the area of technology transfer. Currently the transfer of technology or processing knowledge is mostly done with “paperware” or using standard office documents. Without a detailed, electronically transferable knowledgebase the transfer of process knowledge to a new fab or to a partner takes considerably longer. This is especially the case if the results of the processing at the new location do not match the expected results. The original operators are often only difficult to consult so experiments must often be repeated resulting in extra costs. Using
XperiShare this problem can be lessened.
XperiShare supports the electronic transfer of the development results, which includes also failed experiments and the solution to these failures. This knowledge enables the process engineer to track the errors down a lot faster saving time and valuable resources during the fab ramp up. Especially in the high-tech market where time to market is a deciding factor these time savings can be a real market advantage.
