AICON follows this guideline with its photogrammetry system DPAInspect like no second supplier in the market. The portable 3D industrial measuring system is not only designed as a stand-alone solution to measure parts. It may also be combined with all established and leading surface measuring systems and measurement software packages. For the first time, AICON will present all solutions for the integration of DPAInspect at the trade show Euromold in Frankfurt/Main (Germany).
The 3D industrial measuring system DPAInspect works with a digital camera as acquisition device. Thus it is able to measure parts in any location. Just launched in 2006, DPAInspect has already been able to win over many worldwide leading manufacturers of surface measuring systems and measurement software packages. Thanks to the close cooperations cultivated by AICON, the user will get a comprehensive solution for his measuring task and is not obliged to grapple with several isolated applications.
Measurement software packages such as PolyWorks/InspectorTM, Geomagic
® or Rapidform
® integrate DPAInspect as a plug-in. Consequently, the 3D measuring data collected with the DPAInspect camera are directly transferred to the available measurement software for analyzing, e.g. for a comparison with CAD data. In doing so, the user stays in his usual software environment and starts the AICON DPAInspect plug-in simply with a click. As long as the operator does not dispose of particular measuring software, he may at first only use the AICON module for analysis. Thus he is free in decision for later investments.
The application of the AICON photogrammetry with white light scanners pays off most notably when highest accuracies are required or when the surface of large objects must be measured. In general, with respect to white light scanners, there is the problem of merging the individual scans flawlessly at their overlaps. This particular problem is now erased by DPAInspect. AICON’s measuring system precisely determines the position of the whole object in a spatial coordinate system, and delivers very accurate 3D reference points (accuracy: +0.015mm/m diagonal of object). Afterwards, using these reference points, the scans can be fitted precisely. The quality of the scanning results is increased dramatically thanks to the higher overall accuracy. Today, well-known manufacturers of white light scanners such as Steinbichler, Breuckmann, CogniTens, Creaform (Handyscan) and Vialux count on the precision of DPAInspect.
At Euromold, AICON will present DPAInspect in hall 8, stand A24. Here, visitors will see exemplary measurements and their analyses in various computer programs. Moreover, the dialogue with AICON’s individual integration partners will be possible as most of them will have an own booth at the show.
