Local Positioning Systems (LPS) or alternatively Realtime Location Systems (RTLS) are the equivalent to GPS Systems.

It's possible to use it indoor as well as outdoor. The core element of this system is a TRX transceiver in low-power-technology. On the one hand these chips can reach high data transmission rates, and on the other hand they can also locate among themselves.

Very interesting possibilities arises thereby in terms of positioning (LPS)
and ranging.
