Hannover Fair 2007 was the venue for the debut of Steutes latest member of its Ex emergency pull-wire switch series, the EEx ZS 80. These switches are installed wherever there is a need to safeguard large hazardous areas. Installing these switches means the operator can stop the machine without having to waste time to get to the next emergency stop push button. The emergency stop function is quickly activated simply by tugging the pull wire, which can be up to 75 m long. It has two contacts, 1 NC and 1 NO. Switch status is indicated by a position indicator. The reset lever also doubles as an indicator of the switchs current status. It is compliant with IEC 60947-5-5.
