Culture Plugs

With their new culture plugs Silicosen and Bio-Silicio Hirschmann Laborgeräte offers mechanically manufactured silicone culture stoppers as an alternative for the difficult and time consuming preparation of cotton plugs. A special manufacturing process leads to an even distribution of the pores inside the stoppers. Therefore these stoppers are suitable for preparation and sterilisation of culture media. The culture plugs are available in various types. Silicosen culture stoppers have low water evaporation due to their skin layer which makes them particularly suitable for long term cultures. Bio-Silicio culture plugs have high air permeability to all sides, similar to cotton plugs. Both types are chemically resistant, temperature resistant, liquid repellent and reusable.
